Anyway, here I am trying to share some of my activities, experiences etc. etc. Actually, I have lots of things to blog about but the time didn’t permit me to do so. Now I’m thinking to have a series of Throwback Thursday blog entries, It will be posted every Thursday (obviously.. hehehe). I hope I can be consistent to do it weekly or else I should call this Super Throwback Thursday.

We reserved 5 rooms for 16 pax, The rate is reasonable compared to a day tour (8 to 5PM only) which cost 1,500 per person, included in the rate are uses of the amenities and 1 light snack and lunch.

The Resort is located in the first-class municipality of Binagonan Rizal. Can be reach about an hour from our location in Pasig City. They provided free shuttle service for casino players and hotel guests from different pick up points in Metro Manila and Rizal. Check out their websites for the timings.

Thunderbird Resorts Rizal is one of the best resort to visit for a number of reasons. Aside from the breathtaking view of longest mountain range of Sierra Madre, they also offer superb amenities and activities to enjoy.

Khalifa Park is one of the best place here Abu Dhabi especially for the young and young at heart like me. We’ve been to this Park several times already and we really enjoyed every visit.

It has a beautifully landscaped grand avenue, a central plaza for meeting, a maritime museum, a time tunnel ride, a monorail, an Amphitheatre, a party hall, a women & children’s garden, a theme park, a mosque and an Islamic garden also. Tours can be carried out via train or by foot, whichever is more convenient.

For just 1 dhs (around Php 11.50) you can enjoy the following attractions inside the park:

This museum provides information about the history and culture of Abu Dhabi. This history traces back to prehistoric times to the present time of Abu Dhabi. The Time Tunnel ride is the highlight of this museum, the monorail offers a journey of a living history with all the sights, sounds and smells of the past.

Murjan Splash Park

Murjan Splash Park comprises an adventure land with water fixtures, areas for play, food outlets and seating areas. Exciting underwater events are highlighted by multi-coloured umbrellas and images of aquatic creatures as well as a theatrical lighting and sound system, which helps to create an interactive environment.

The main feature of the Murjan park is the children’s play area located in a shallow pool with four small waterslides, a giant tipping bucket, a crawl tunnel, water guns, a water umbrella, small tipping buckets, a water wheel and showers.

It also has a 257-metre lazy river that is 0.6 metres deep where one can relax in a tube and ride it around the twists and turns of the park. It also contains four trampolines. Guests will also be able to pilot their own dhow around obstacles, through tunnels and past other boats in the Radio Controlled Dhow Derby.

You can enjoy a barbecue session also with your family and friends, there are designated place in the area that allowed that but be sure to clean the area after.

3 Nov

I will be having my 10 days holiday starting tomorrow yahooo… I applied for 3 days leave in my office in conjunction to the 3 days public holiday announced by UAE Government in celebration of Eid Al Adha.  Since I don’t have a plan of going home this year, I’m thinking of what activities or gimiks should I do, I don’t want to spend my holiday eating and sleeping at home.

There’s a lot of tempting offer / promotions from different Airlines, Travel & Tours and Event Company here in UAE. If only I have enough money I definitely avail them all. You can take a look of the following maybe you might want to enjoy these offers:

Etihad is having a 50% off in economy flight going to Philippines and other key destinations. The usual 2,500 AED more or less fare to Pinas now you can get for only for 1,240. Sounds very exciting! Hurry… you can still have till 12 midnight today to book the flight.

Be sure to check the terms and condition.

Cobone has various offer for Eid holidays… You can check their website for great deals. I’m an avid fan of Cobone I bought lots of offers from this site and really enjoyed it.

There’s a lot of online discount site available online to enjoy your holiday with friends and families, you may visit the following site and check  great deals:

I’m still contemplating on what to to do this weekend. Need to check my budget if I am able to buy the above offer or not. After all we can still enjoy holiday without spending too much! Maybe spending a day swimming at Corniche Open Beach or Picnic with family and friends at the park.

Exploring Al Ain

22 Oct

I’ve been to Al Ain twice already but still wanted to go back again and again. This city is indeed beautiful,  the place fully deserves to be called “Garden City in the Desert”. Al Ain is very rich in culture and heritage, from the people to architectural structures and historic buildings, you will amazed how they preserve their cultural heritage. By visiting the place especially their museums you will catch a glimpse of Abu Dhabi’s humble beginnings, how Abu Dhabi rose from rugs to riches.

Al Ain City is located approximately 160 kilometres east of Abu dhabi Capital and 120 km south of Dubai. It’s also called round about capital of the United Arab Emirates. If you are a 1st timer in Al Ain, chances are you will get lost (yes, we did!). Roundabouts are everywhere!. I suggests to do a little research about the place before hand for a less hassle trip, by the way signage are scattered all over the place especially going to popular tourist attractions.

I would like to share to you some of my favorite spot on the city. I hope I can travel to Al Ain again very soon since hubby already got his driving license.

Jebel Hafeet

Jebel Hafeet is the UAE’s second highest peak which  describes as “among the world’s greatest driving roads.” At the top, you can take a break at the Mercure Jebel Hafeet hotel near the mountain’s peak.

Green Mubazzarah

Green Mubazzarah is  a park at the bottom of Jabel Hafeet. The park is well maintained, luscious green grass covered the mountain.

Al Jahili Fort

Al Jahili Fort in Al Ain was erected in 1898 by Sheikh Zayed The First, the Al Jahili Fort in the oasis city of Al Ain is one of the great landmarks and symbols of the United Arab Emirates’ cultural heritage. The inner courtyard offers up to 450 visitors an atmospheric setting for chamber music; seating at the large stage is provided for some 3000 concertgoers.

Al Ain Zoo

Al Ain Zoo is open daily but the timings differ during Ramadan, Summer and Winter season. The 1st time I went there was during Ramadan  opens from 9 pm to 2 am (kmusta naman ang night shift na mga hayop). Then we came back last September, the timings is from 4:00 pm to 1 am.

Al Ain National

Early Emirati living in the background

Al Ain Museum is the oldest museum in the UAE and was built by Shaikh Zayed. Visitors can clearly see the features of pre-oil Emirati life, and important archaeological discoveries in the region.

These were the places I visited so far, I know there’s still a lots of tourist attractions in Al Ain. I’m looking forward for Al Ain Paradise next time and hopefully stay a night in Mercure Grand Jebel Hafeet, the hotel at the top of the mountain.

If you’re planning for a great vacation here in the UAE, don’t forget to include Al Ain in your list, there’s a lot of must see places to explore.

You want to know more about Al Ain City? just visit the blog of my fellow UAE blogger Misalayn of Al Ain City Daily Photo.

Sayang ang Singapore Trip

27 Sep

Cebu Pacific is religiously having their Promo Fare round the year for budget travellers like me. The ever famous “Piso Fare” is always a blast, I envy those lucky enough to avail the promo. It’s really exciting to travel without compromising our budget.

I don’t have a plan going on vacation for this year, my family were here in UAE so I might save the Air Fare tix provided by my company and allot my remaining leave days on my daughter’s vacation in  school. However, I made a mock booking, just to know if I will be that lucky to avail the Promo fare.

After several attempts, constantly changing the dates of arrival and departure, I finally got the two way promo fare.  I just need to pay less than 3,000 Pesos for 3 person… It’s indeed cheap, as if I’m just going to my hometown in Bicol.

I always wanted to go back to Singapore since my 1st trip to SG two years back were less than a day only. It’s just a 22 hours stop-over during my flight bound to Philippines. I had a chance to visit my College friend Mau and explore the city even for few hours.

Me and my college friend Maureen

Sayang talaga ang Singapore Trip! My hubby and I were always eager to visit Singapore. We have a lots of friends there and must see places to explore.

Sana lang on my next vacation, Cebu Pacific will give me a chance to avail the promo again. For the mean time I’ll start saving money for my next SG Trip! See you soon Singapore!

3D-2N Hongkong-Macau Itinerary

24 Feb

As promised in my previous post, I want to share our 3D-2N Hongkong – Macau Itinerary. By the way this trip is my post Birthday treat to my daughter which turned 8 last January 12 and a celebration of our our 8th wedding Anniversary.

We traveled last January 26-29, 2011 via Cebu Pacific. I luckily got a promo seat but in a very late departure.

Departure 26 January 2011 @2255H

Arrival 27 January2011 @0055 H

Departure 29 January 2011 @2155H

Arrival 29 January2011 @2355 H

We arrived at HongKong International Airport at 1 AM, my hubby’s cousin is waiting for us in the Airport. We stayed at their place at  Sai Kung New Territory for a night, the place are pretty far from Central Hongkong, we travelled for more that 1 hour via taxi and pay for 270 HKD as stated in the meter.

Prior to our trip I prepared our Itineraries based on the advised of the frequent traveler from Pinoy Exchange Forum. This forum helps me a lot in preparing our IT, Its very useful especially for a 1st time traveler.

Below is the original Itinerary I prepared prior to our trip, I must say that there’s no such thing as PERFECT Itinerary. Eventually things will change due to unavoidable circumstances but it’s still important to plan your trip especially if you will travel for short stay only.

8:00 – 10:00 – Hotel Check In / Exchange Currency

11:00 – 1:00 PM Ngong Ping (Big Buddha)

1:00 – 8:00 PM  Hongkong Disneyland (Whole Day Till Fireworks Display)

8:00 – 9:00        Breakfast / Getting ready

9:00 – 11:00      Avenue of the Star / Roaming around TST

11:00  – 12:00   Ferry to Macau

1:00 – 2:00        Fisherman’s Wharf (Late lunch)

2:00 – 3:00        Wynn / Grand Lisboa (Fountain Show)

4:00 – 6:00        Senado Square & Ruins of St. Paul

6:00 – 7:00        Macau Tower

7:00 – 8:00        Ferry to HongKong

It’s not advisable to go on a half day tour in Macau most especially if you have kids or elder companion with you. You cannot manage to see all the nice tourist spot , like in our case we missed the Venetian, which I know a must see in Macau. My daughter is so damn tired because of the long walk plus she’s still exhausted because of  trip the other day in Disneyland HK.

8:00 – 2:00 HongKong Ocean Park,

2:00 – 6:00 Victoria Peak (Wax Museum)

8:00 PM (should be in Airport)

We didn’t get a chance to visit The Peak because we arrived at Ocean Park at 1 PM so we decided to spent the rest of our time at OP.

So, there it goes, I hope this post will help you in preparing your itinerary. Thanks and Good luck on your future Trip!
